Learning and support

Learning

At Box Hill Public School, every student is supported to become a confident and capable learner. Our teaching is guided by the NSW curriculum and evidence-based practices that ensure high expectations and meaningful progress for all students. Teachers design engaging lessons that build strong foundations in literacy and numeracy while encouraging creativity, problem-solving and curiosity across all learning areas.

Wellbeing

Wellbeing is at the heart of our school. We create a safe, inclusive and caring environment where every student feels known, valued and supported. Through positive relationships and proactive wellbeing programs, we build resilience, empathy and a strong sense of belonging.

Additional learning support

At Box Hill Public School, we believe every student can learn and achieve success with the right support in place. Our Learning and Support Team works closely with teachers, families and specialists to identify individual needs and provide targeted adjustments for students with disabilities and additional learning needs. We focus on creating inclusive classrooms where all learners feel safe, supported and ready to succeed - academically, socially and emotionally.

High potential and gifted education

At Box Hill Public School, we recognise and nurture the talents of all students - including those demonstrating high potential and gifted abilities. Our programs challenge and extend learners through creative problem-solving, critical thinking and rich, open-ended learning experiences. Students can explore their interests and stretch their thinking through opportunities such as chess club, robotics, debating, public speaking and Tournament of Minds. We’re proud to provide environments where curiosity is celebrated, effort is valued and every student is inspired to reach their personal best.
